Born in Mayenne in 1972, over 50 years ago, our company, "Ateliers du Terras," has been cultivating multi-skilled expertise.
It is a craft-based company specializing in general carpentry and custom fittings for more than 50 years. In 2019, with the merger of a local company specializing in Carpentry, Roofing, and Insulation, our SARL Ateliers du Terras added these new skills to its expertise.
On one hand, our carpenters manufacture all fittings in our 600m² workshop, which is equipped with specialized machines for woodworking (planers, spindle moulders, edge banders, panel saws, jointers...). Solid wood such as exotic wood, oak, pine (...), as well as its derivatives like melamine, laminate, MDF, and even composites like compact panels are materials we know how to transform perfectly thanks to our tools, skills, and expertise.
On the other hand, we also master timber frame construction, carpentry and decking, roofing with waterproofing, gutters (...), interior insulation, attic and exterior insulation (ETICS), drywall partitions, installation of interior and exterior doors, windows and roller shutters, garage doors… This is the versatility we offer through our expertise.
Finally, we handle troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs through our teams of professionals trained and specialized in their respective trades—carpenter, roofer, plasterer…
What we do, we want to do in the best possible way, which requires us to know our products perfectly, their applications, and their limits before offering them to our clients.
This multitude of skills creates a wealth of experience and exchange, which we enjoy sharing by mentoring apprentices and interns in carpentry, carpentry structure, or roofing each year. Indeed, if we want young people—or even older ones—to take an interest in and pursue our trades, and ultimately have candidates for the positions we need for our growth, we must show, explain, guide, and train. Our company policy allows us to retain employees long-term, and this stability reinforces our experience.
Always in search of innovation, unique and quality products, we provide our clients with an 80m² showroom in Mayenne (53100), where we display a large part of our know-how. Since April 2025, we have opened a new showroom in La Baule (44500).
